The Saturday Appliance Call Stock List

Saturday customers pay for speed. If the on-call van is a random leftover week, you are selling a promise you cannot keep.

Weekend jobs are a known set

Washers that will not drain. Dryers that will not heat. Fridges that are warm. Ranges that will not ignite. Your Saturday parts list should map to those four sentences, not to the entire OEM catalog.

Pull last quarter’s weekend tickets if you have them. Ten SKUs will dominate. Those ten belong on the on-call van Friday at 4 p.m., scanned, with photos.

A dedicated on-call loadout

Do not assume the last tech who drove the van left it ready. Friday restock is a checklist: pumps, valves, ignitors, thermostats, a couple of common boards, fuses, and the tools that vanished last weekend.

Assign the on-call van in software. If the on-call person takes their own truck, transfer the Saturday kit onto that truck Friday. Do not text “grab what you need.”

Confirm model numbers before you drive extra parts

Saturday is not the time to haul five boards. Get the model number in the booking text. Bring the one board that matches or schedule the return visit honestly.

If the customer cannot find the tag, say so before you roll. Honesty beats a van full of wrong OEM and a refund fight.

Price and scan on site

Weekend invoices slip. Scan the part to the job while you are still in the kitchen. The office can bill Monday from the scan, not from a memory of “I think I used a valve.”

If you charge a Saturday premium, the part still needs a line. Premium labor plus a free OEM valve is how weekend profit disappears.

Monday reverse-restock

Unused Saturday extras go back to the warehouse Monday morning. Cores go in the core bin. The on-call van returns to a weekday load. If you skip this, Tuesday’s first call inherits weekend chaos.

FleetStock transfers make Monday a scan, not a scavenger hunt.

FAQ

Should every tech’s van carry the Saturday list?

The on-call van must. Daily vans can carry a thinner version. Do not clone a weekend warehouse onto every truck.

What if we have two on-call techs?

Two kits, two vans, same checklist. Split geography, not parts.

How do we handle a sold-out Saturday SKU?

Raise Friday min stock. If the warehouse is also zero, you have a buying problem, not a weekend problem.
